The Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce is once again hosting the annual Christmas Parade.  This year’s parade will be held on Saturday, December 1st at 5:00 p.m. and will be immediately followed by the Downtown Development Corporations Tree Lighting Celebration.

The theme will be “I’ll be Home For Christmas, A Tribute to the Troops”

A planning committee consisting of the Somerset-Pulaski Co. Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Somerset Development Corporation, Somerset-Pulaski Co. Convention & Visitors Bureau, Pulaski County Fiscal Court and the City of Somerset has arranged the Christmas Extravaganza to center around downtown Somerset where seating will be provided for the parade, float awards and Tree Lighting Celebrations.

The Christmas Parade will begin at 5:00 p.m. followed by the Tree Lighting Celebration at 7:00 p.m.   Holiday music will be provided before and after the parade.  Awards will be given during the Tree Lighting Celebration for the following:

1st Place Float

2nd Place Float

3rd Place Float

To make this a wonderful event, we need the community’s help.  We encourage everyone to get involved again this year and help the Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade be the biggest and best ever!

We are calling for all bands, cheerleaders, ROTC units, girl scouts, boy scouts, civic clubs, churches, cars, dogs, horses and anyone interesting in participating in this year’s parade.

So, get those floats ready!  Get those cars shined!  Get those marching boots on.

Last year we had over 200 entries and this year we are hoping for an even bigger parade.

Mark your calendar for Saturday evening, December 1st to line the streets of downtown Somerset to officially kick off the Christmas season and to celebrate the official arriving of Santa Claus to Somerset.

Parade starts at 5:00.
