The Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce is is now accepting applications for our 2021 Leadership Lake Cumberland program.
We want you !!!
Leadership Lake Cumberland brings together a selected group of people that possess a broad variety of leadership abilities, career accomplishments, and volunteer activities to gain insight into complex issues facing the region.
Participants in Leadership Lake Cumberland:
- Get behind the scenes access to manufacturing, non-profit organizations, health care agencies, government agencies, education institutions & much more.
- Create new business connections from a cross-section of the community.
- Hear from prominent speakers such as Elected Officials, Local Law Enforcement, Judges and CEOs.
The goal of the program is to provide participants with the opportunity to build relationships, serve the community, and engage with political, civic, and business leaders.
Through a series of nine monthly, one-day sessions, held in various locations in the region, participants are educated about Southeast Kentucky and its many advantages as well as its challenges. They meet and talk with the region’s current leaders, and explore our communities various business sectors. Topics will include: education, health and human services, law and justice, business & technology, industry, tourism and much more.
The Leadership Program is sponsored by the Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce and will operate from April through December. The Leadership Class opens with an overnight retreat in April, and then meets one day a month through the conclusion of the program in December.
To date …. we have graduated over 730 community leaders from this program.
Who Should Apply?
Each year, approximately 25 professionals from business, government, education, not-for-profit, arts, religious and community groups are selected to participate in Leadership Lake Cumberland. Those chosen have demonstrated a strong commitment to our local community, have achieved high levels of leadership in their perspective spheres of influence and are capable of assuming greater responsibility in the future as well as making the necessary commitment to attend all the Leadership Lake Cumberland classes.

Are you ready to make a difference in your community?
New to our program for 2021 is the Norrie Wake Leadership Scholarship. This scholarship was established by the Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce in memory of Norrie A. Wake. The scholarship will be awarded annually to one local business, civic or non-profit organizations that would traditionally be unable to afford the cost of tuition.
