He was first elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives in 2010 where he served until his election as Kentucky’s state commissioner of agriculture in 2016. \nQuarles holds seven college degrees: a doctorate in higher education administration from Vanderbilt University; a master’s degree in higher education from Harvard University; and a juris doctorate from the University of Kentucky College of Law. The youth rally will feature an interactive keynote presentation from Youth to Youth International on the power of making the right choices in life. \nIn addition\, the event will: \n\nInspire and invigorate youth to join an existing UNITE Club or to start a new UNITE Club at their school. These clubs provide skills in leadership\, citizenship\, and resistance to negative peer pressure.\nProvide students an overview of UNITE’s summer initiatives\, such as Camp UNITE and Shoot Hoops Not Drugs camps.\n\nOperation UNITE is a collaborative model striving to prevent abuse of drugs and facilitate recovery. The non-profit organization creates strategic partnerships\, provides leadership\, promotes education\, coordinates treatment\, and supports law enforcement.
