DESCRIPTION:Somernites Cruise and Burnside Island are proud to announce the 7th Annual “Campin’ the Cumberland Vintage Camper Rally”!! September 21st-24th\, 2023 at Burnside Island State Park!! This is a new location for us and we are excited to be there!!\n\nLast years rally saw over 40 vintage campers and was a great success and we are excited for this years event!!\n\nThurs Sept 21st is check in day. The day is open to setup and to explore the area (and we have a lot to see including Cumberland Falls\, Big South Fork scenic Railway\, Historic Mill Springs Grist Mill\, Mill Springs Civil War Battlefield\, Haney’s Appledale Farms\, etc.) all within a 10 minute to 45 minute drive of the campground.\n\n\nFriday Sept 22nd is when we have open house scheduled from 2:30 to 5:30. We will be promoting the open house to anyone in our community who may want to come see the campers so bring all your vintage camping supplies\, coolers\, etc.!! You can even set up and sell your goods if you want to!!\n\nSaturday September 23rd is the Somernites Cruise event in historic downtown Somerset (again about 10 minutes from the campground). Gates open at 12:00 (noon). We would like to have about 7-10 really nice vintage campers along with vintage tow vehicles to come display downtown (we understand that means you have to break down and set up again downtown). Our September show is always one of our largest of the year!! We usually have between 1\,000 -1\,500 classic/collector cars & trucks at our September show. If campers prefer not to attend the Somernites Cruise event and would rather explore the community and other attractions that’s OK too. Again\, all Somernites Cruise events are free.\n\nBurnside Island State Park is waiving the $6 booking fee plus they are offering a 10% discount per night!! We appreciate them working with us!! We currently have 50 campsites blocked off so make your reservations early to ensure you get a site!! Reservations can be made by calling the Campground office at 606-561-3625 or the business office at 606-561-4101.
