The Mole Hole is a whimsical boutique that was first imagined by Jack Harris in 1965 in Petoskey, Michigan. Mr. Mole’s house in the children’s story “Wind in the Willows” was the inspiration for the naming of the magical gift shop The Mole Hole. Mr. Harris had approximately 200 stores across the United States and Canada at its peak.

The history of Jack Harris’ Mole Hole is important to us. Decisions made to further the brand are always made with that in mind. We have recently changed locations and updated the look of The Mole Hole as well as our product lines, yet have stayed true to the whimsy of the original concept.

We carry a wide variety of name-brand items. Our handbag/travel lines include Anna Nova, Cinda B, and Chala. We also have various jewelry lines like Kameleon, Lizzy James, Bella Ryann bangles, and Bourbon & Boweties.  For perfect entertaining pieces, try Nora Fleming with its interchangeable “minis,” Portuguese-made Casafina stoneware, or stunning Southern Jubilee glassware. Beyond carrying products that make your home look fabulous, we offer products that make your home smell fabulous too! Candleberry Kentucky-made candles offer the best in clean-burning, heavenly-smelling scents.  Or try simply luxurious Lampe Berger catalytic burners and oil diffusers. We offer superior customer service, free gift wrapping, and NOW custom vinyl monogramming and embroidery is available!

If you are in our neck of the woods, stop by and see why we were named in Trip Advisor’s Top Ten Things to do in Somerset, KY!
