We are excited to have United States Secret Service Special Agent Paul Buta as our guest speaker.
With over 16 years of experience with the United States Secret Service Agent Buta is responsible for complex financial crime investigations, both domestic and international. These investigations focus on thwarting counterfeiting U.S. currency, access device fraud, bank fraud, identity theft, and other areas relevant to insuring the integrity of the U.S. financial infrastructure.
Agens Buta has also been assigned to the Presidential Protective Detail and assigned to the Special Operations Division. Additional assignments included an assignment to the Office of the Chief Counsel, as an Agent Attorney, and the James J. Rowley Training Center as a Tactics Instructor.
Agent Buta enlisted in the Marine Corps from High School and completed his enlisted career as an Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO) Team Sergeant. Subsequently, he was commissioned as an officer, a Judge Advocate, where he worked as a prosecuting attorney, environmental law attorney, and family law attorney. He completed his Marine Corps career as a Civil Affairs Team Leader assigned to 2nd Battalion 9th Marines and 2nd Battalion 8th Marines in Helmand Province Afghanistan.
